Kieren's attempt to leave for France are dashed by Maxine's imposition of an Undead travel ban, and the formation of the PDS "Give Back" scheme. There's high school drama with Jem her young class-mates, an undead party (complete with mood-altering ... substances), and Jem reconnects with Gary.

I'm interested to know what (if any) specific influences lead to the creation of this season. Are PDS sufferers representing minority groups in general, a new post-slavery society, class divide, or something else? And I wonder where the show creators see the show fitting into the galaxy of zombie media: something akin to Romero's zombie movies with a message, or just a modern take on the old monster?
