I didn't read the book but there was sufficient buzz about it to make me seek out the ending. I'm open to seeing how the show goes for an episode or two.

I was already able to watch the first ep on TWC. I was predictably underwhelmed, but I'd love to hear what my fellow mefites think.

Based on the first episode it's not very tightly written. I didn't hate it but I think it falls under the point-and-laugh column. Ex: for most of the ep he wears a blood-stained white shirt. Randomly, the blood will be on the right or left side of his collar. That's minor but very funny.

Yeah, it was just kinda nonsensical and silly. I'm not sure it's going to hold up for a whole 10 episodes. If anything it reminded me of (oh dear god don't remind me of) Ascension. It'll turn out to be a city... in space!

Catblack, do you know the story ends in the book?

Eh... it's not great. It takes an interesting premise and makes it into generic broadcast TV thriller mush. I'll probably stick with it, because I'm a glutton for mediocre TV punishment.
