Kung Fury (2015)

During an unfortunate series of events a friend of Kung Fury is assasinated by the most dangerous kung fu master criminal of all time; Adolf Hitler, a.k.a Kung Führer …

It is called Kung Fury. It is 30 minutes long, and it has opened on Youtube.

Jorma Tacone is Kung Fuhrer. David Hasselhoff is in the music video. That is all.

I love action movie parodies. This one is near perfect.

It's really hard to pick a favorite moment, though the plug for cell phones out of nowhere comes on strong.

Also all Kung Fury posts need hackingtoomuchtime as a tag. :)

I can't believe they managed to keep Triceracop under wraps.

Heh... "before I could pull the trigger, I was hit by lightning... and bitten by a cobra". Okay, I guess I'll keep watching.

Ok the fact that Triceracop

A) Exists
B) Has an RP Accent
C) Prefers to kill all baddies solely by shooting them in the crotch

A PLUS PLUS PLUS PLUS PLUS WOULD TIMEHACK AGAIN

I want to believe Triceracop is Reggie Watts.

The part where Hitler shoots the police department through the phone is comedy gold.

"What year is this?"

"It's the Viking age."

"That explains the Laser-Raptor. Fuck!"

Has an RP Accent

I only recognized a couple of actors, so I couldn't help looking up some of the others in the credits, and one thing I noticed is that the voices are clearly done that way on purpose -- several characters are dubbed by native-speaking professional voice actors, including Triceracop. To balance that, others speak half-gibberish on purpose (try asking a German speaker if they can even figure out what language the mustache guys speak :-).

Hackerman is played by a fashion model, btw. I suspect he doesn't use that wig on magazine covers.

Also see if you can spot the one extra that actually competes in kung-fu at an international level.

Ok I just paused it at one minute thirteen seconds because I literally (yes, literally) spit tea on my monitor when I saw a flaming baby carriage.

Yeah, I thought that was a great touch.

I just watched it.

It is perfection.

PERFECTION.

The woman in the lab scene. She has moves.

Guys, this is the worst, dumbest movie, and I cannot adequately express to you how much I want it to be feature-length

I love the definitely not-cop looking cops as extras in the police station.

Whoah. That ... that was something okay. The music was particularly on-the-spot.

I think my only peeve is that the chief mentions Viagra, which was a late 1990s thing.

My brain is broken. So I guess I know now what would happen if Napoleon Dynamite and Axe Cop had a baby.

Hackerman uses Java, which is also a 90s thing. On the other hand, he can hack time so that's ok.

Bonus points for using a classic Swedish Diavox phone in Miami. Should maybe have used a Cobra instead, though, but the Diavox is much more eighties.

Hackerman uses Java a decade before it exists because he's just that good.

I liked it much better when they called it Danger 5.

I'm watching it now - I'm getting flashbacks to The FP.

The mustache scene is primarily in Swedish, two excellent Swedish comedians. They are speaking a kind of weird made-up fake-German that is as hysterical in Swedish as is bisten am engerlitch.

Please tell me they're doing a full-length Barbariana spin-off after this.

And fresh off of watching that, I've been reading the core rule book for the 1977 equivalent RPG of that mid 80s cheeze, Spirit of 77 They're a well matched set, I think.

For the same feel in RPG terms, you should check out the fresh new Trenchcoats and Katanas.

Also, there's now a vidya game on Steam of Kung Fury, two bucks, sidescrolling beat-em-up.

You may also enjoy this scene from Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult, with four baby carriages rolling down stairs, complete with baby-launching springs. Warning: also includes OJ Simpson doing an end-zone dance with a baby doll.

And because you are clearly idle and have nothing to do for the next few hours, Kung Fury film page on TV Tropes, and an additional YMMV page for the short film, for tropes of mixed reliability.

While I enjoy this sort of 80's nostalgia (see also Far Cry Blood Dragon) I feel like it's really a nostalgia for something that didn't actually exist. It's like what you would get if you took all the actual action/sci-fi/exploitation movies of the 80s and distilled them to their purest rule-of-cool driven madness. I'm not complaining, but, is there anything from that era that actually, earnestly approaches the intensity and insanity of what's presented here?

I mean, I guess there's this—it's the only thing that even comes close off the top of my head.

Plz help me.

Video games. Not necessarily in insanity, but in intensity, solving everything with fights, and boss levels.

Double dragon, and Rush'n attack come to mind.
