I was watching out for the cast member I recognized to be connected to the crimes, like the guy from The Wire earlier this season, and instantly zeroed in on the researcher's assistant because I coulda sworn I saw her in something else and she was good. But this episode is only actress Cassie Beck's second credit on IMDB. I'm sure she'll have many more soon.

Where ever did we leave Moriarty? Wasn't she locked up in England somewhere? I can't recall...
(This can be a rhetorical question, since I've started watching the series again from the beginning lately. I'll get there soon.)

John Noble's fantastic on this show, he plays the world-mover quite well straddling good and evil. It's hard if not impossible to be moral and occupy such a powerful position, so Morland can't ever really be a good guy but it looks like he's being pitted against Moriarty who is also so powerful but has a distinct bent towards evil. If this finale is a setup for next season as Morland vs Moriarty and that means we get lots more Noble and Natalie Dormer back I am 100% on board with that.

A very, very good episode that shows the cracks in the good guys: Watson keeps information away from Holmes, and he is focused on proving his father's guilt throughout...

It was only a matter of time before we got a Morland vs Moriatry scenario. I better stock up on popcorn.
