• The unfortunate trend of nicknames in The Clone Wars is continued in this episode with Ahsoka calling Captain Rex "Rexter."
• "Downfall of a Droid" was the second Clone Wars episode produced and represents the earliest animation seen in the show in its entirety, as only the animation in the Clone Wars movie predates it.
• Ahsoka's fool hardy flying style is referenced in the episode and is noted in "Shadow of Malevolence" an earlier episode.
• The phrase "dime-a-dozen" is introduced into Star Wars by Obi-Wan Kenobi in this episode.
• An earlier version of the episode's "fortune cookie" opener was "Friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, impossible to forget."
