Tatort: Borowski und das Land zwischen den Meeren
March 3, 2018 9:55 AM - Season 47, Episode 24 - Subscribe

Outside of Kiel on the small island of Suunholt, Borowski investigates a man found drowned in his bathtub. Everyone knows everyone else and no one's talking. The legend of a drowned city haunts the place.

A moody and expressionist mystery. This was my first Borowski so I don't know if this is the general tone, but I sensed not. In a departure from the usual rural setting, the local police were not wholly inept. Famke, partner of the deceased, was... interesting. Standard crazy woman but somehow more sympathetic?

Unfortunately the cause of death was spoiled for me by the comment that was right under the stream. Ugh!

My favorite part was learning about Rungholt! I never knew that getting a pig drunk could have such consequences.

Borowski is pretty consistently ok, as was this one. Though there were a couple places where you had to suspend belief almost to the breaking point (works at the bakery and lives in a waterfront house of some size? The islands up there are not the without real estate speculators... also the cause of death... well, it’s Tatort, there’s always something)

On the whole a satisfying episode - though I miss Brandt (played by Sibell Kekilli) and the not just old-white-guy’s tone that she brought to the proceedings.
