A series of murders has shaken the community to the point where people believe that only a legendary creature from dark times - the mythical so-called Golem - must be responsible.

Directed by Juan Carlos Medina from the screenplay by Jane Goldman, this 2016 British horror-mystery is an adaptation of Dan Leno and the Limehouse Golem, written by Peter Ackroyd in 1996; and features a cast of characters including the cameos of musical theatre actor Dan Leno, philosopher Karl Marx, and writer George Gissing.

We watched this a couple of weeks ago. Bill Nighy is very good in it and much less "Bill Nighy"ish than usual. It's an enjoyable little movie with some things to say about agency and the performance of roles both on and off the stage. Looks good, too, and very atmospheric. CW for off-screen abuse.
