Is it just me, or have the weapon effects gotten very, very obviously digital in the last couple of seasons?

I felt this one was kinda meh on the whole, though I really like the development with Simon playing Starscream and am excited to see where that goes. On the whole, I've really been enjoying the last few episodes.

Also, I agree with you on the weapon effects. The gunfire in the last couple of episodes seems fake enough to catch my attention, whereas it never did before. This is the sort of thing I am very willing to overlook though.

My husband paused the episode to point out all the very wrong things Simon was doing with his gun in the first scene when he is telling the Saviors what they are going to do. A) His finger is on the trigger and he's waving the gun around wildly B) the safety is off C) everyone will be fine though because his gun has no rear sight and therefore he can't aim at anything anyway.

Seriously, this show could use a few technical consultants and to actually listen to them. Oh, and writers...

A and B are in-character for Simon being an asshole, though.

I kinda felt sorry for Dwight in this one; the glimmer of hope that we'll move on, leave this situation behind crushed by the realization that Simon's simply another -- worse -- version of Negan. (Although, seriously: that came as a surprise to him now? Simon's been aping Negan, right down to the speech patterns, for as long as we've known him.)

I didn't think Dwight was surprised at all about Simon being a dick. I think Dwight is tired and beat down and wanting to step back and let our group win. At which point he dies. He is exhausted.

So the lady with the knowledge has been watching the group and thought right now would be a good time to do the exchange? And it was weird to me that Enid assumes that’s how they live all the time instead considering that they probably had a home base, or did I miss something? I would assume that everyone I meet is a total bad ass at this point, good or bad one to be determined but they obviously can handle their shit.
