This episode wasn't AS terrible as the critics led me to believe, though it was pretty sitcom-y. I'm hoping it'll settle down pretty quickly the way Happy Endings did.

I haven't watched this yet, but Happy Endings took about 3 episodes to find its footing, so I have hope.

Yeah, the characters/actors are promising--I'm definitely going to keep watching. The pilot was fine, just over the top.

The pilot was better than even the promos for it lead me to believe -- even the cringey moments work better than I expected (and more plausibly). I'm still not entirely sure if I like it, but I'm hopeful.

I liked the weird introduction to most of the cast, with them popping up from behind various furniture, getting a quick apology (in which their name is used), and rapidly leaving.

They're going to have to do some major work on Annie for me to like this show. As of the pilot, she is just a horrible human being. Okay, some of the havoc she wreaked wasn't her fault, but good lord, she actually came off worse in the second half.

I liked this, I liked the characters, I laughed a lot and I hope this show does well. Maybe it only plays well with the unwittingly-engineers-social-disasters demographic.

Also, it wasn't nearly as cringingly sitcommish as the C+ Mulaney. It was more like 30 Rock or Parks and Rec in a way that I enjoy.

This made me feel old: my response to the episode was, "it could be good, if only they weren't all just so loud!"

This episode got a "tipsy filthy light thief thumbs up." Overly wacky, but not saccharine, and the characters are decent (though garbage-friend Gil's hair is like a crazy wig, and not in a good way - I was waiting for a wacky slip-up where it fell off or was pulled off).
