Based on the IMDB, this kind of sounds like a plotline taken from Fringe. I'm down with that. Gonna have to check it out.

It's one of my favorite shows. I highly recommend it.

This whole Emily Alpha thing has caught me by surprise. Given her "I think I wasn't a good person" and that we're getting indications there is a lot more going on with her than we had already suspected, I'm wondering if Alpha really did start the plague on Prime and that Emily was involved.

Based on the IMDB, this kind of sounds like a plotline taken from Fringe.

It has some stuff in common with that, but is less overtly fantastical/SF than Fringe. (It's basically a really good spy thriller take on the 'two Earths' thing - so far, the only supernatural thing going on is the bridge between worlds itself, whereas Fringe was a delightful kitchen sink of weirdness.)

That said, I'm with Ivan: I *love* this show, and highly recommend checking it out.

Yeah, me too.

The sci-fi/mystery/puzzle aspect is a draw (what is Management? What makes a person who they are?), but I think I most love what a great acting showcase Counterpart is. In season 1 especially, I loved how it was always clear which Howard was which -- even when they were pretending to be each other, when there were no obvious markers like different hairstyles or accents. Simmons just has this way of projecting a different energy, something in his face and posture that just always left me in no doubt as to who I was watching. I think it's likely going to be the same with the Emily's this season.

I was a little surprised that Howard Alpha didn't already know that Emily Alpha was the reason he hadn't been promoted all those years -- I feel like it was implicated by Howard Prime, but I guess it was just something the viewing audience could infer rather than something Howard Alpha should have understood already.

I'm a fan of the Counterpart recaps on the Black Nerd Problems site.

Yeah, this whole show hinges on the actor being able to clearly communicate which double he is, through sheer vibe alone, while that double is impersonating the other double.
