My Brother, My Brother And Me: MBMBaM 448: Bird Words
February 25, 2019 2:40 PM - Subscribe

This episode features some of the narrowest narrow-casting yet recorded in human history, which is to say: If you've got a science report about Birds due at school tomorrow morning, we've absolutely got you on this one. Suggested talking points: Justin's Soundboard, Snowblower Preferences, Hot Grapes?, Eight Paper Towel Rolls, Moist Magazines, AI Taxi, 50 Avian Descriptors

Meghan Trainor's press release gave me, like, millennial PTSD. I was literally involuntarily screaming. It was every bad Twitter attempt-at-meme from a corporation in rapid horrific succession. I'm still not over it.

I had seen the Meghan Trainor press release on Twitter, and as soon as he said a Munch Squad without food, I knew where we were headed. Frankly, with all the talk of smashing junk and getting wet, maybe Munch Squad is still a valid name...

That Meghan Trainor PR made me think, “whoever wrote that is too old to be writing things like that.” And I’m a gen-Xer.

It was so unrelentingly horrible that I am inclined to think it was intentionally horrible, with the aim of it going viral.

The first time I saw that press release was the writer of it saying "Yes folks it's a joke, I wrote it this way as a joke" so the extended goofing on it didn't really work for me because I had that specific context. This isn't a criticism just an observation of how comedy requires a specific context to work.
