Fringe: Unearthed   Rewatch
November 7, 2014 5:36 AM - Season 2, Episode 11 - Subscribe

This episode was filmed during S1 but aired just prior to "Johari Window". For those of you following on DVD, it can be found as a special feature on Disc 6. Netflix streaming lists it as episode 21. A girl regains consciousness in a hospital, but will have some interesting scars. Peter asks the obvious and shows off his linguistic skill. Again. Walter has a theory. Charlie makes an anachronistic appearance, and later gets a fun chase scene. We find out what happened to test subjects 1 through 5. Walter has another theory. The Tibetan Book of the Dead is used as a coaster. Lightning fails to strike. Walter has a third theory. The priest has a theory. Olivia has a theory. She's also a friend who is a girl, and who carries a gun. Walter's final theory sounds a lot like the priest's. Occam's razor triumphs in the end, guess it's not Tuesday. Peter gets a hug. Olivia gets a warning. We get an ending, of sorts.

I watched this not realising the details about the "filmed during season 1 but aired during season 2" stuff, and it showed up as the final episode of Season 1. Let me tell you, that was a weird and very anti-climactic end to the season....

Yeah, HBO Max also has this as S1E21 and it's just bizarre to slot this one, a fairly average mystery-of-the-week, in between the S1 finale and the S2 premiere; it totally kills the momentum.
