I wished so hard for Kokkuri to beat Shigaraki to a pulp with the cast iron frying pan.

Shigaraki was rather … appalling … in this episode.

(Or just being his tanuki self, I guess.)

A couple details gleaned from the first chapter of the manga which might help make a little sense of the main characters:
  • Kokkuri isn't Kokkuri's name. When Kohina summons him, she gives him the (apparently arbitrarily-chosen) name she was using to summon him. He can't remember what his was (or, alternately, he's had so many names over the centuries that another one doesn't matter much).
  • There's an episode about why Kohina's parents are absent. It doesn't explain anything, and it's awfully dark compared to the tone the anime is trying for.
  • Kokkuri is a "low-grade god" literally possessing her, not just hanging around. So maybe his motherly behavior is a consequence of deciding that if he's stuck with her until she's dead, may as well find things to do.
  • The series title translates to, "Go Google It, Kokkuri-san!" The search engine gags don't translate well to anime, though. And maybe they don't want to get too bogged down in implicit endorsements without Google paying them for it.

Oh wow - the voice actor for Shigaraki is also Nyanta on Log Horizon and Kotomine Kirei in the Fate series. Nyanta-san is an honorable cat person while Kirei is a scumbag. Shigaraki is a scumbag animal?

Nice the manga is scanlated which is good news. I kinda understand how Kokkuri-san become Kokkuri-san as when I was a kid I pretty much had a no nonsense naming convention too. Yamamoto-kun is a great model student if I do say so myself and even takes well care of his sister.

I wonder if the entire main cast has assembled now?
