The Pine Guard is scattered, in more ways than one. Kepler's long-held secrets are coming to light over the course of a single evening. Their foe is beginning to take shape, but how much farther will they fall before they can stop it? Duck pushes the panic button. Aubrey confronts her past. Ned holds onto what little he has left.

I'll need to listen through again to make sure I'm following everything that happened in this one (and I'm glad they were able to record even if that was a pain) but this one was a stressful one.

It was stressful but I liked it! Way more details and stuff in this one that I'm having a harder time tracking, but as long as stuff is happening it's fine.

Oh man, a couple of times I just sat still for Clint and Travis's performances in that scene in the shop.

I also burst out laughing at the "self-exploration" joke, not because it's the funniest thing I ever heard but because Clint was making it. This was a fierce one, here.

The conversation that Ned has with "Dani in disarray" was really scary, even just driving alone in my car in the middle of the afternoon. The storytelling there was excellent.

Oh yeah that reminds me, I was not really clear on what was going on there exactly. I knew it was the shape shifter monster but then I realized that the shape shifter monster & Ned's adventure in the abandoned hotel were connected... so the shape shifter monster was kidnapping people and putting them in body bags with these..globes attached, and that's how he takes peoples shapes? So that means the monster had Danny this whole time? If so why wasn't its appearance damaged when it confronted Ned (?) earlier?

I thought the globe-bag was something near the body Ned saw in the hotel, rather than the body actually being inside it. So, it's possible that the bom-bom can mimic people even after returning people?

All I understand about the globes is that it seems like Ned having taken one of them is why the Mimic is having such an increasingly difficult time keeping it together now.

On revisiting it, I also really love the way that Duck abuses the hell out of Leo for turning up, and Leo just takes it, because this is how guys express their worry and affection for each other. Justin characterizes so well.

Clint plays Ned with so much love and compassion this episode that I went from being "meh" on Ned to full-on Team Crime Dad.

Hopefully we'll see that ball break, and then...?
