At the end I just found myself whimpering "nono no no no--"

I don't think they would kill Gene but I can't figure out how to not kill Gene or kill Gene. I have no idea what's going to happen, which is thrilling and so rare . The last time and possibly the first time I really got this from a tv show was around the midpoint of You're the Worst: it was completely new territory and there was no knowing what to expect. Besides, like, Twin Peaks were you're not even sure what you're watching, this whole vast untrod territory thing can only be great or wrong. I saved the first season for when I knew I'd need something because I was pretty sure it would be good no matter what and I'd avoided knowing too much about it. Of course, I blew through it and everything else was dim in the light of amazement. Waiting for the end is going to be upsetting no matter what because it's over for another year, but killing off Henry Winkler, the nicest man in Hollywood?

Yes, I went: "Noooooo" at the end. I love how Fuchs has shown his true colours this season as the horribly evil manipulator, from the bumbling idiot of season 1.

I lol'd at the scene in the back of the truck when Noho Hank co-ordinated everyone standing up by holding their partner's hands.

I bet Barry gets the part in the shit pie movie too.

Gene is one of the highlights of the show for me, so I really hope Fuches doesn't pull the trigger. I feel like the writers aren't done with him yet, but maybe that's wishful thinking.

Sally... I cannot decide if I'm proud of her for sticking to her guns and not pursuing a part that's terrible or annoyed for her throwing away an opportunity and then being all green-eyed monster about Barry lucking out. Maybe it'll still pay off, but damn...

Barry's character in the movie/feature eventually getting manipulated into eating his own shit pie is basically a meta-narrative for the whole show. Either that or just an excuse to get Bill Hader to do his sing-song "who wants some piiiiiiie?" as many times as possible.

Sally's scene telling off Barry was pretty great.

Sally's venting was such a great scene.

I'm actually quite curious if they'll reveal the title of the shit pie movie. Maybe it'll just be Untitled Shit Pie Project at this point in production (of the shit pie movie, not the Barry series just for clarity).

Shouted "oh, you motherfuckers" before I realised what I was doing when the credits came up. Love this show.

Didn’t they say it? I thought Gene made a point of saying that Barry had a line that said the title of the movie. “Swim Instructors” or something.

I have watched both seasons 1 & 2 over the past two weeks, and I finished this episode last night. I almost don't want to watch the finale. It's been a fun ride, and I look forward to Season 3.

I loved that the scene were Sally confesses her jealousy about not getting a good part is filmed in such a way that is effectively a showcase for the actor i.e. it is one long take, direct to camera, and shows a wide range of emotions in the one take...all being very meta since the dialog is effectively no one writes good scenes for Sally.
