The album IMO is a superlative feminist, queer, and black manifesto that directly addresses and develops a response to our current political situation. The chorus that opens "Americans" brings me to tears just writing about it. On the video work, I'd give my left arm to live within the queer spaces she imagines. But the story felt a bit stretched to cover all the personal expressions of rage, frustration, joy, and hope that fills the album.

This is kind of the most shallow possible thing to say about this collection, but it was a great watch while at the gym. Also I love Monae's optimism from within dystopia.
