Monstress Volume 3

Maika has spent most of her life learning how to fight, but how will she fare when the only way to save her life...is to make friends? Written by Marjorie Liu, art by Sana Takeda.
It's absolutely beautiful, and also super dense It's not necessarily that it's that wordy of a comic, either - there's a lot of dialogue, but there's so much going on in the visuals, too. Tstuff that would be a splash page in a different series gets maybe a third of a page here.
(This is also to say that I'm behind in reading this, because the time I budgeted for reading the entire work was spent reading just the first - 200 page! - volume).

- The artwork is *gorgeous*. Apart from having a good story, this is worth checking out just for that.
- 'Nekomancer' is a bit of a groaner in the middle of such serious proceedings, but Ren is great anyway.
- If Maika's only hope is to make friends, she's probably in a lot of trouble. :)
