First off, if you don't happen to follow Matt on Twitter, he posted a brief video! The gang leveled, and the video contains their hit point roles as well as the answer to a question we've all wondered about for a few weeks now.

Second, the heist! I can't believe it went as well as it did! I also wonder if they could have gotten away with more, since smash and grab might have been an option, at least for the last case they tried. I felt bad for Travis that there wasn't a way for Fjord to come. Sitting around waiting seems to be his least favorite activity. I do wonder about the book they found, and Caleb giving it to Fjord.

There's been some great character stuff out of this mini-arc, but I'm looking forward to them getting back to Xhorhas, and maybe even the Empire. I think they were saying Ashley would be gone with Blindspot for 4 months, and her last episode was at the end of June, so we are (in theory) only 2 months away from Ashley's return...

I feel like I'm channeling Dani... :D

Apparently Beau has a type - Guest PC's.

The heist went as well as expected - especially with find traps and 'find the thing we're looking for' working for them (and Jester doing a great job using her paints).

I loved the imagery of Fjord's awakening, and Caduceus's/Taliesin's surprise at eldritch blast working (apparently he gets to keep some levels of warlock? Interesting. . .) Also, waiting for the fanart of Jester and Fjord reinacting the Peggy/Steve chestpoke.

Also, sometimes knowing some of the background mechanics helps with the narrative and sometimes it doesn't - Nott's speech was great, but in the back of my mind I was also thinking 'calm emotions is a second level spell. . .'. Though I guess that only lasts a minute.

Booksherpa, what was the thing that you were going to mention in the last episode's discussion that happened this episode?

*gigglesnort* Indeed! Ahem.

Oh! That comment was kind of in response to Parasite Unseen's comment: "Most days the group is only ever going to face a single encounter before Matt allows them time for a long rest so choosing and rationing spells with an eye towards adventuring utility is not particularly important." and was a reaction to Caduceus choosing spells not with an eye towards healing, but with an eye very much towards the task at hand. It makes logical sense, because if his spells allow them to easily find the ring and avoid traps, then he won't *need* to heal them. They honestly planned very well and achieved their goal and then some. They did kill the one guard and set off an alarm, but both were more attributable to dice rolls than bad planning.

I think in general the M9 have had more successful plans lately than Vox Machina typically managed, which I find funny since the M9 have a higher ambient chaos quotient.

Yay paladin Fjord! Now Travis can roll boatloads of Smite dice (although I’m curious if his warlock spells are realigned to a Celestial patron?)

Matt confirms in the thread for that twitter video that Fjord is now Warlock 9/Paladin 1. Suspect he’ll stay a hexblade rather than rebuild as a Celestial warlock (Celestial isn’t exactly designed for front-lining, unlike a Paladin). Paladin with level 5 warlock smites should prove.. interesting.

Wonder if Fjord will receive the elven chain now that he’s front-lining?

I suspect it may depend on what exactly his new sword does... they may let Caleb keep the armor since he is squishy and Fjord has a brand new (presumably) magic item.
