Superstore: Cloud 9.0

Superstore returns for its fifth season with the Cloud 9 employees focused on saving Mateo, previously taken by ICE in last season's finale. In the interim, a corporate plan to give Cloud 9 a modern update leaves Glen convinced a store cleaning robot wants to sleep with his wife.

When they pushed Glen off the roof, I just knew it would live and right itself. That seemed like a really short fall for a big box store, though. Those things are usually at least two stories high, often more.

I teared up at the detention interview. It was a nice handling of the fallout of that day, funny and bittersweet. And Sandra's wedding is going to be terrifying.

I am really into the friendship between Mateo and Cheyenne. And more Sandra.

Not sure how they can move ahead with the (upsetting) bird plot unless the birds are miraculously found to be roosting somewhere in the store.

Buy more birds? I can imagine those roosting somewhere though.

The ICE scene was genuinely touching, sad, etc.

Of course the robot doesn't die.

I'm deeply worried that the robot is carrying a microphone and camera and is spying for corporate.

It wasn't until I watched this episode that I realized that I had been clenched up inside over Mateo's arrest all summer.
