WHAT.
the ACTUAL.
FUCK?!?!?!?!?

They killed the weird Halas morph, they killed the Permaheart, they figured out where Yussa is, but then they LISTENED TO CALEB when deciding what to do next!!! This thing is CALLED the "Archmage's Bane"!! Perhaps don't listen to the wizard when deciding whether or not to be SWALLOWED!

Oh, Mighty Nein!

It was a terrible strategic choice, to be sure, but it was also so much fun! At the end of that episode I was grinning like a fool. I look forward to watching them try to get out of this one.

So I was hanging out with another critter friend of mine on Saturday, and she had watched the entire episode on Thursday, while I had seen none of it. So just by her thousand yard stare I knew something epic had gone on at the end of the episode, but I still wasn't expecting them to literally leap into a ridiculous elder god of a creature's mouth. (If anyone is interested, Astral dreadnoughts are official D&D monsters - stats are here. Spoilers, kind of)

I like how Caduceus was like 'we tell Caleb no a lot, so we should say yes this one time'. We say no to Caleb a lot because he has all the worst decisions! (except for that one that sort of turned out all right, but still)

And then they decided not to do the thing and then did the thing anyway!

It's gotta be bad when Sam is the voice of reason.

It is super exciting but what the hell.

I mean, it looks like we're heading towards a really exciting and appropriate Halloween episode, at least.

The minute that Matt mentioned that there was two levers, I KNEW that they were going to pull one.

Levers are like giant red buttons in games and a certain kind of personality simply *cannot resist* pushing a giant red button.

Looking forward to whatever costumes the group wears for the game on Halloween night.

"You guys are off the map now." - possible best ending line for a session ever.

but then they LISTENED TO CALEB when deciding what to do next!!! This thing is CALLED the "Archmage's Bane"!! Perhaps don't listen to the wizard when deciding whether or not to be SWALLOWED!

I think that's a little unfair - Caleb suggested going to the Dreadnaught room, but he backed down when Jester and Beau spoke against it, saying he would rather save their trust in them for a time when it was truly important. He said that he was ok with going to get Yussa and leaving, provided they could come back. Cad and Fjord especially pushed for taking the peek into the room...and once they were there, everyone but Nott was on board with going further.

"D&D is nothing but a series of meetings!" And doing crazy, foolhardy things - because you are an adventurer!
