RuPaul's Drag Race UK: Snatch Game
November 1, 2019 1:41 PM - Season 1, Episode 4 - Subscribe

This week the queens take on the iconic Snatch Game challenge where they must deliver their best celebrity impersonations against a classic TV game show backdrop.

Ru announces that the main challenge will be Snatch Game where the queens have to impersonate different celebrities. Judge Alan Carr joins Ru for his walk through and gives advice to the queens. In the Snatch Game, Lorraine Kelly and Stacey Dooley star as guest judges. Baga plays Margaret Thatcher, Blu impersonates Mary Berry, Cheryl plays Gemma Collins, Crystal impersonates Rue McClanahan, Divina plays Julia Child, Sum Ting impersonates Sir David Attenborough, and The Vivienne plays Donald Trump.

On the main stage, the runway theme is genetically-modified drag queens. After the runway, Blu and Cheryl are declared safe and Blu is commended by Ru for her performance in the challenge. Baga and The Vivienne are both praised for their performances in the challenge. However, Crystal, Divina, and Sum Ting are criticized for their performances. Ru then declares both Baga and The Vivienne the challenge winners, and Crystal and Sum Ting are placed in the bottom two. After they lipsync to "Spice Up Your Life" by the Spice Girls, Crystal was declared the winner, and Sum Ting, having landed in the bottom for the second time, was eliminated from the competition.

I thought this was overall a strong Snatch Game. The political tag team of The Vivienne/DJT and Baga Chipz/Thatcher was fun, if laughing at evil is fun. I was sad to see Sum Ting Wong go because I really liked her as a person on the show but didn't want to lose Crystal - who I also really like and am required, by law as a Canadian, to cheer for - so I guess I was okay with that.

I found Geri not Haliwell but Horner to be kind of endearing yet also awkward as a guest judge? I am not sure whether I liked her or not.

I don't know if I liked Donald J. Vivienne, but damn if it wasn't some impressive, impressive work.

OK, I just watched this episode (catching up during quarantine, yay) and normally I'd just lurk but...

Divina should've stuck to her guns and fought to be Maggie. Because her Julia Child didn't have the voice down, didn't put rum in everything and get progressively drunker, or do anything Julia. And she and Ru twice made jokes about Julia Child having written the Joy Of Cooking, which she didn't!!!!!! She wrote Mastering The Art of French Cooking!!!! I have both books, goddammit!!!!!

and no, quarantine isn't stressing me out at all, why do you ask
