This is a story about a common man who has extraordinary events in his mundane life. The film depicts the protagonist's turns of events in three eras, three seasons, three nights, in the same city, as told with reverse chronology.

I found this through deep diving in Netflix titles trying to dig up something interesting. It is pretty good, but the end of the first segment has some horrifying domestic violence that seemed unnecessary.

Wikipedia doesn't mention a book as the source, and I can't find a book with that title, but I did find In the Country of Last Things.
