Rude Tales of Magic: Class Dismissed
December 5, 2019 12:21 PM - Subscribe

The beginning! What a fine place to start. We meet our nascent heroes in the throes of the beginning of the sunset of their scholastic salad days. Demon possessions, ominous warnings, and threats from Hell itself auger ill and trouble. Can they matriculate from danger to destiny? Can they graduate magna cum...adventure?

Branson Reese and his jester's retinue, Christopher Hastings, Carly Monardo, Tim Platt, Joe Lepore, and Ali Fisher, buck and bumble through the magical backwater world of Cordelia. One hopes you enjoy both japes AND scrapes, because honestly, it would be impossible to disentangle one from the other, given their profound entwinement in this particular piece of entertainment. Produced by Taylor Moore @ Fortunate Horse.

Rude Tales of Magic is a rude and hilarious and rude RPG podcast, and even only 6 episodes in has captivated me such that it's an immediate listen, and a frustrating wait between biweekly episodes. Would love to discuss the adventures of Albee, Cordelia, Bellow, de Bonesby and Stirfry with you all! Hopefully some of you are listening too, and if not jump on! I'll post the first 6 eps over the next two weeks and then we'll catch up to the feed!

"Hey! I can't hear, I'm stuck in a hole! Is he saying what kind of mountain he is?"

Jumped on this because I'm a fan of Branson Reese's comics. This is pretty close in sensibility.

I've been thinking about making a rude FanFare post for the past few weeks. If you like The Adventure Zone, I can almost guarantee you will like these Rudest of Tales. I don't want to spoil anything, so I wont say too much, but while I of course love Stirfry, I would lay down my life for Albee Dawn.

It’s tempting to listen to this, because I do love the Adventure Zone, but they’re also doing a trainee heroes in university campaign. I’m not sure I can manage two of them.

Really don’t understand why everyone is suddenly jumping on the ‘D&D in college’ bandwagon.

Not to spoil anything, but it gets off campus very quickly and perhaps irreversibly. You won’t be attending lessons like in TAZ. Both do take their shot to poke at JK Rowling’s “Wizards just poop anywhere” thing though.

Thanks for that, yellowbinder. I’m giving it a try. They’re a fun bunch of performers.

I'm only 15 minutes in and I'm really enjoying this. The improv between the DM and players so far is really funny.
