Episode transcript

KF Monkey Post: none that I could find. Rogers takes a minute to hit his stride here, maybe around Juror # or 12 Step Job.

snerson's nom for best like this episode: "Hell fire, damnation, et cetera. You know what? I’m gonna step over here, so when the good lord throws down on all of y'all, I don't get hit by the lightning."

next episode: The Two Horse Job

I have a huge soft spot for most of s1, but this one is just, oof. So good. I think the writing here is truly great -- I'm always shook by the line about 5 thieves saving a church as a miracle, and the bits of homily we see are gorgeous.

I kind of wish we'd seen Fr. Paul back for an episode in the Latimer arc to contrast with his "descending with a fiery sword to smite the wicked" type comment.

I liked how Parker's fondness for Christmas/Santa is set up from the first season. Impressed with her phlebotomy skills; not impressed with a lab that would release a positive pregnancy result for a male!

Favorite Hardison/Eliot bit:

Hardison: How 'bout that? Man, you-you see me?
Eliot: He was injured.
Hardison: Well, somebody got to fight the injured. Shoot, that's my niche.

I have to be honest, this is far from my favourite of season 1, but that might be because a housemate came home while Sophie was demonstrating one of the world’s worst australian accents and wouldn’t trust my taste in tv for years after.
I have to imagine there was a plot reason for Sophie to be so bad at Australian accents and not that Gina Bell can’t do it. Not sure exactly what reason, tho!

Gina Bellman's from New Zealand, so it's not surprising she doesn't sound Australian!

I though she sounded like a New-Zealander who's lived in Australia for a while. Or vice versa.
