Crisis averted! But wait, there's more! ♫♪♪ Something, something, Fillory, a most amazing land. [Messed up] by catastrophe, and way before we planned. ♫♪♪ La, la, blah, blah, Fillory, a land without a god. Needs a brand-new hero, a strapping lad named Todd. ♫♪♪ Oh, and there's a new boss at Brakebills.

This was... fine? I'm surprised it took Eliot this long to finally see (literally) that the Dark King is obviously the evil dude who makes The Takers.

I like how they went completely crazy again with Timeline 17 Dean and blowing up Todd.

I still suspect that the Dark King being evil is some sort of fake out...like there is a valid reason he is doing it and its not just to be evil for evil sake. No idea what his end game is though.

Oh, between the blurb and the title I was expecting this to be the musical episode.

I can't tell if seeing the Dark King make Takers moved the plot along or not - like Captain_Science I think this must be some kind of fake out. I totally wasn't expecting them to be made out of gold excreted by beetles, though.

Where is Tick Pickwick these days?

Where is Tick Pickwick these days?

I assume he didn't come forward with Josh and Fen, so... ±300 years dead.

I'm pretty sure he came along with Josh, Fen, Rafe et al.

yeah i remember seeing him too. I'd like a casual line drop about what Margo's subjects are up to these days.

I love that they basically have 40 timelines to choose random versions of each character to drop into the show as some kind of Deus Ex Magichina

Yes, this is especially delightful since in so many of the timelines these particular characters are likely to have at least dabbled in time / timeline magic. It makes pretty much any crossover they want to do make logical sense within the story.

He did come along . Tick Pickwick's actor is on that terrible NBC choir show, so I imagine that conflict might explain his absence this season beyond that first episode.
