Supergirl: It's a Super Life

Mxyzptlk returns with a proposition for Kara; Kara must decide if she wants to change history to become friends with Lena again.
I really feel as if this episode were written in direct response to the fans who, all along, have been saying 'Kara should have told Lena' (along with "Mon-El and Kara have no chemistry") and this was just a way to say, "Uh-uh, you're all wrong, and we were right in our story-telling direction all along."
I like this version of Mxyzy much better than the other one.

What sardonyx said. The point of this episode in the main was to prove that no matter when Lena found out or how, something bad was going to happen anyway, so why bother to change it? This is, ironically, the lightest timeline and the one in which the most people survived to this point in time.
That said: (a) Kara getting over her guilt and being all "Okay, fine, whatever, but I will go after you as a villain if you act like one" was good, and (b) Mr. M was so much less godawful annoying in this one, I rather enjoyed his redemption and would be fine with his return. Go figure on that one.

Yeah this was a great episode. I fully appreciated them doing both a fan-service and a fan-dispute episode. Pretty awesome for a 100th episode!
And I completely forgot Mxyzptlk was in the show before, because his last appearance was both forgettable and nowhere near as great as this. (side note: this needs a Thomas Lennon tag)

Okey-dokey-pokey, done. (I'm generally uncreative about tags for the weekly network shows, thanks to auto-fill, unless it's a praise Beebo situation :-)
I enjoyed this version of Mxyzptlk better than the previous creepy-stalker incarnation too, the buddy chemistry with Supergirl was very cute. I'd love to see him pop over to Legends of Tomorrow for an episode, I think he and Ray would be adorable together. It's probably too late now for it to happen though.

TV Line - Supergirl's Melissa Benoist Announces Pregnancy — Will It Affect Season 6?
I didn't realize Benoist had married Chris Wood (Mon-El) - my dislike of that character is so intense that I had a gut reaction of 'ugh, him, really? you deserve better' when I got to his name in the article, ha. He's probably a perfectly nice person in real life, but I don't think I'll ever get over my "ugh, go away, Mon-El" feelings.
Presumably with the Superman & Lois spin-off and the new Stargirl series, CW can give Supergirl a shortened season with a mid-season launch next year so Benoist gets a long enough maternity break.
