I did enjoy Maggie Wheeler's performance. I wish she had had a recurring role, but this is the only time she appears in The X-Files universe.

In later episodes as well as in I Want to Believe, Mulder always has an aquarium with a little diver figure in his apartment, though we haven't seen it thus far. In this episode, we see him bend over and check out the aquarium at the Fiores' house, and smile at it. Did he get the idea of getting one from this case? Seems like an odd thing for him to do if so, given that, you know, a man was murdered by being drowned in the aquarium he saw. Anita Fiore did keep that fish tank knowing her first husband was drowned in it... but then grief makes people do things one wouldn't expect.

How does an 8-year-old keep leaving the house alone to go down to the police station, to take the bus at night, or to the Fiores' house at night, without anyone noticing?

Michelle seems to be swimming in her backyard pool in Buffalo... in April.

"It's called origami."
"Japanese paper folding. Where did she learn how to do that?"

Felt really weird, even for 1993.

What was even stranger, as a Vancouver resident, was seeing the buses and neighbourhoods of the time. Majority of it is unrecognizable today if you didn't remember it as it was then.

btw, the scarf scene - it was super easy to shove your arm through the closed back doors, and there was enough clearance between the bottom of the door that you could stick your foot through the gasket easily.

But the girl would have gotten him eventually. The 8-year-old doing un-8-year-old things without being noticed is a big part of her creepiness. Her mom is absolutely terrified of her; I wonder how many years the mom had been dealing with this for?
