I never re-watched this one, because I thought it was the most horrible episode. I mean, the one with the stuffed killer cats is also horrible, but hilarious. And yes, there came a point when they all became horrible, but I've erased those memories from my brain.

After a mytharc two-parter; a weaker episode cleans the palate, I guess.

I recall having some distaste for Frohike, I'm reminded again why. I get Langley, I think. Never did figure out Byers.

IMDB trivia: The producers were initially concerned that the elephant would not run toward the truck for the show's teaser. However, the elephant thoroughly enjoyed the truck and the producers had difficulty getting the creature away from it.

Unrelated imgur I ran into earlier today.

The elephant autopsy physical fx wasn't great; obviously styrofoam/ latex foam. That hunk of belly probably should have weight at least 80 - 100 pounds or so and the vet just tosses it above shoulder height.

Everyone thinks Tiger King is a documentary, but it's actually a prequel to this episode.

I taped a run of a dozen or so X-Files episodes from this era, so despite this one not being very good... it was on one of those tapes, so I've seen it at least a dozen times. #just90sthings

This was pretty bad. Maybe not as bad as "3", but still lacklustre. The idea that aliens would begin inseminating animals from one sad little zoo in Idaho is so ridiculous it reminds me of this classic Kids in the Hall sketch. Maybe The X-Files alien overlord is just some sort of twisted reproduction freak?

Frohike's repeated hitting on Scully is both annoying and sleazy. At least Mulder has the sense to discourage him/refuse to enable his behaviour.

The gorilla suit is not convincing, especially when one can see the wearer's eyes showing through.
