Top Chef: Michael's Santa Monica
May 30, 2020 2:28 PM - Season 17, Episode 11 - Subscribe

Tom makes his final decision from "Last Chance Kitchen" on who should return to the competition; the chefs take off in a Quickfire with Padma and Jonathan Waxman making a two-course business class dish for an airline.

Trust Malarkey to exit in the most attention-seeking way possible...If Gregory had been eliminated instead, I would've FLIPPED SOME TABLES.

Good on Gregory for basically telling him to chill the fuck out even through it ostensibly put him in more danger (though I firmly believe it was always Malarkey leaving)

What a bad idea. “I can’t figure out how to make this dish so I’ll just make two.”

Really fun concept for a challenge though. Quite the lineup of famous alumni of a single restaurant

He got do pissed that it was a duo and not meant to be eaten together, and it's like dude serve it on a divided dish or something. He really was in his own head on this one.

I forgot how mad I was about how they handled that missing plate misdirect. Had nothing to do with the chefs, it just embarrassed some poor server who had to work around bizarre TV production routines (thankfully without showing the screwup). Had nothing to do with the chefs; should have been edited out.

*big sigh of relief* I'm glad he's gone. (Not sure how much of his character is creative editing, but I'm tired of all that Malarkey.)

I'm still Team Gregory, but I'm just not sure he'll be able to win it all. My prediction is for Melissa, though I could see any of them as the winner...

So then supercres it looks like he's mad for nothing? And just melts down unnecessarily? I thought by not showing what actually happened it helped protect the server from embarrassment, but that the context needed to help understand why Malarkey was freaking out.

Enh his reaction and the statement in Judges’ Panel could be edited around as well. His anxiety seemed to mostly come from the diners eating his duos together. Just seemed like a cheap act-break cliffhanger.

I am also glad he is gone. I am so tired of grown men on reality shows acting like 4 year old boys and then getting all the camera time.
