CW: suicide

I'm somewhat enjoying Ivar's character development, but I don't really care. He isn't earning a redemption, he's just another asshole who's just being kind to a kid who's had a difficult life.

Igor shanking Oleg with an arrow was predictable and meh.

Gunnhild's choice of the manner of suicide is totally baller. Would be out of character, but it leaves open the possibility that she hides out for a while and comes back for revenge, but again, would be completely out of character.

The whole Iceland thing needed to die before last season. I know I made fun of the show for being a Travel Advert for Iceland in seasons past, but this about turn is taking it a bit too far.

If they put the "artsy" stuff into Iceland instead of in the main plots, maybe it would work?

But:

Torvi, with baby in swaddling in one arm, totally axes some crazy guy. Go Torvi!

Just checked to make sure; Othere (Stevenson) does totally rip the guy with the hammer's lower jaw off, and smacks another dude in the face with it, before stabbing some guy with his own sword, then steals the sword to kill another dude. Before dragging Ubbe away in escape.
