I think this is my favourite bake-off yet. David Baddiel's first two bakes weren't the best, but the cat was cute, and the rest of the bakers were pretty good, without being super competitive. I had never heard of Anne-Marie before, but she was delightful. She just had so much joy when she got things right. It also reinforced my love of James McAvoy.

I'd never heard of Anne-Marie before either, but I knew as soon as she spoke that she's an Essex Girl. I don't watch blockbuster films so I wouldn't know James McAvoy if I walked past him in the street, and I must confess I didn't warm to him. But I've always had a crush on David Baddiel - I'm a sucker for a clever, witty man - and Dame Kelly is just lovely. I was impressed with the quality of the bakes, particularly the monkey and the cat. They don't seem to have a huge amount of time for their bakes, given that they're amateurs, so it's super-impressive that the cakes were of such high quality.
