Intergalactic: Season 1
June 2, 2021 8:42 AM - Season 1 (Full Season) - Subscribe
In the outskirts of outer space, a fearless young cop and galactic pilot finds her life changed forever when she is accused of treason.
The production quality is middling poor (surprising for a Sky product). Over-use of greenscreen by an inexperienced studio? But the art direction is pretty good.
The prehensile hair is kind of both interesting and (mechanistically, biophysically) stupid.
Feels like it's taking itself more seriously than it has the juice for. Pacing issues. Might get around to giving it the full 3 episode try.

Yeah, my overall impression is that it's cheap and maybe a bit lazy, and that applies to a lot of things regarding this show? But once the ARC plot start spinning up and the Old Woman (she's like 30, kids, but whatever) starts being her own mystery, I thought it was interesting enough to be worth a few lazy early summer evenings.

I've watched the first episode, and I like it! Sometimes I just want cheesy space opera with a bright colour palette and ridiculous tech (prehensile hair!!). I also like spotting familiar actors, especially those playing against type.

Right? I was trying to place the actress, and not succeeding because my algorithm was off by several decades. She's five years younger than I am.

Anyway, it was kind of doofy and occasionally slightly eye-rollingly dumb and some of the characters are oof painted with broad strokes, but the actual worldbuilding and storyline were interesting enough to make me pay attention.
