I'm extremely amused that VM's character art has them wearing layers upon layers upon layers, and the Mighty Nein has them wearing as little as possible.
I'd forgotten how much I actually enjoyed Vox Machina! I don't know if I'm up for a rewatch any time soon, but it was great seeing them in this little instance. I liked the interactions they had before killing each other - especially Scanlan liking Jester right away.
"You're one of those rich boys" "Oh Yes" was also amazing.
Mechanically, I thought M9 was likely to win from the get-go, just because they're more used to playing those characters at that level. But I also forgot how much stuff Vox Machina had. Seeing high-level Molly on the battlefield was great - I really thought he was going to be the first to go down (before we knew what the mechanic was for having Tal play Molly and Percy).

The twitter thread of all the art is excellent. Loved the music as well.
I'm only getting into VM/Season 1 now (after quitting on episode 10 and jumping to 24 at the recommendation from folks here and am very glad I did) so this was interesting. Vox Machina have so much gear! While an AC of 23 is ridiculous, I think recency bias/familiarity as well as less reliance on equipment (and maybe a bit more teamwork) meant that M9 had the edge. Also, Scanlon strikes me as much more powerful outside of combat as bards often are.
And while the game isn't really balanced for PvP, I thought Matt did a great job building in interesting mechanics into the fight with the chests, the Percy/Molly swapping and the environmental hazards.

I expected VM to have the edge, honestly, because of their gear. But the dice can be a great leveler.
