"I'M A GOOD BOY."

Best end of first act twist/escalation I've seen in ages. The vibes in the first half are itchy and tense. It's a shame they didn't really know where to take it in the end. I wouldn't say this was successful, but I'll be making a point to see this team's next project because it had some real moments.

For those interested in this type of horror movie, you might check out Hidden. It checks similar boxes. Be careful about reading reviews or comments, though, as it's an easy film to spoil.

I didn't enjoy the ending to this. I watched it because I love Pat Healy in Cheap Thrills. He was really unlikeable in this one though. And the chemistry with the whole family felt off. If they'd explored them a little better the 2nd half would have worked, I think.

I just didn't go for the failed witchcraft angle.

Honestly, I'd have liked it better if it went inexplicable cosmic horror and explained nothing.

I also have minor quibbles about how they never tried that hard to break out. I mean, break the mirror, hold the shards with towels, chisel out the grout, punch those little windows out. At least try screaming for help. Sheesh.
