Leverage: Redemption: The Muddy Waters Job
October 16, 2021 8:36 AM - Season 1, Episode 15 - Subscribe

"The Leverage team infiltrates an oil rig and a small-town trial to find evidence that a corrupt oil CEO is hiding a dangerous oil leak in the gulf, causing illnesses along the spill zone." Better recap: Harry comes to the team when his ex-wife's current husband, who he thinks is a decent oil CEO, is in trouble.

Mail forwarded from across the world. River Song? That's Hardison. Alice White? That's Parker. TEDDY BEAR?!?! That would be...Eliot!
Wow, Noah Wyle's daughter looks like a dead-on younger female version of him.
Wait, you want us to help an oil CEO? "He's married to my ex-wife."
"Look at that side part! That is a bad guy side part!"
"We're in a labor dispute with our hacker, remember?"
"Seriously, with the teddy bear?" "I knew it would make you grumpy. You're cute when you're grumpy." I love his girlfriend so much.
"HIS job was to smile for the cameras, wipe down some pelicans, and wait for the whole thing to blow over."
Breanna has created an I TOLD YOU SO graphic to prove her point.
Eliot's vision of how the scheme should actually go on the oil rig (ideal version) reminds me of the movie Gambit.
"Are you mad at me because I made an oil funny?"
"Normal people do not ride helicopters." "That's sad."
Maria is amazingly tolerant/hiding her head under a blanket regarding .... whatever... Eliot does. Dude, just say "I co-founded an international organization dedicated to taking down bad guys."
ELIOT IN THE BABY SHOWER HAT.
Oh, Grace just made me want to BARF. "He takes care of me." And hey, as long as you're rich, who cares what your husband does? Harry, you're better off without her.
I feel so sorry for the poor baby shower-throwing guys that died in the oil rig :(
"Well, let's just say I've decided to re-calibrate my entire thinking about morality."

I didn't track that that was really his daughter until I saw this comment and looked her up. Her name is Auden, which is really pretty.

I loved the "efficiency expert" hack. Modern workers -- even reasonably prestigious knowledge workers such as lawyers at the nearly-partner level -- are willing to accept the too-plausible premise that their bosses hire condescending micro-managing "efficiency experts" and drop them on you out of nowhere, with zero context, to surveil you and assess your performance. This feels like a social engineering insight up there with "hold a clipboard/wear a high-vis vest and no one will question your right to be there."

I just loved seeing stong, bold colours on strong women in charge. That gold on the lawyer, and those fabulous reds on Sophie. Man, I wish I could find a red that works half as well on me as those two red outfits looked on her. Beautiful!

Eliot's vision on how the oil rig fight would go and then breaking the fourth wall reminded me a little of the flashbacks they'd do in the first season. Was a great way to establish backstory with very little runtime.

"I know that guy, he's the Butcher of Kiev!"
(Flashback to cleaver duel)

Breanna was great in this episode, going on strike and everything.
