Acapulco has a similar feel to the rapid fire comedy and multilingual switching of Los Espookys, with the absolute wonderful palette of the 1980s Mexican resort aesthetic. The show has a very Princess Bride sort of setup: a very successful older Maximo tells his young nephew about his time as a pool boy at the hotel, which is then shown in flashbacks with occasional clarification requests from his nephew. I'm really enjoying it!

I didn't expect to like this, or I didn't expect to like this as much as I like this, or something. The minor characters are all excellent. I'm particularly fond of Maximo's family.

Now I have to check out Los Espookys, which I totally missed.
