The Abyssal Auction: Part Three Let the money fight commence! As our turquoise heroes bid to claim their quarry, their opponents move against them, mostly because of the many terrible impressions they made in the previous episode.Additional music in this episode: "Piano Improvisation" by Moon Finger; "The Whisper" by Pipe Choir III www.pipechoir.com; and "Night I" by Swelling.
I got the real sense that Justin was in complete panic mode, even though Amber was completely comfortable with the way things were working out.
Like, somewhere in his mind, he was screaming, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!" but Amber just kept telling him to sit down and stop distracting her while she's at the wheel.

I was hoping for more rolling and contested checks (deception vs insight) with the bidding, mediated by how much money each party had brought, but that would be par for the course with FatT where Austin would devise complete homebrew rules instead of TAZ, where (apparently) mechanics should never get in the way of everything going *just so*.
Never seeming to be in any real danger of getting an item they didn't want was my only minor niggle with a quite good episode. The Amber side-scenes kept it light and lively.

I suspect Travis' plan came out the way it did mostly because of dice rolls, and that Griffin wanted a heist to occur regardless of how things would have turned out. Or, in other words, forcing them to succeed or fail at a quest because of an auction wouldn't have been as interesting to the listeners or fair to the players as if they had an opportunity to use magic and muscle too.

I can see that, but also noticed places that more drama could have been signaled there
