The student film kinda vibes of the Popeye hallucination sequence made me decide to watch the second half mostly on fast forward. This tries to repackage backwoods cannibal stuff as art film vibes and ergotism poisoning. I didn't go for it, personally.
It has a pretty good visual sense to it, but it tries to get artsy when it should be leaning into the absurd and the grotesque.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more with this. The filmmakers obviously had some affection for Texas Chainsaw Massacre, they would have been better off going farther in that direction.
Also, that Lisa Dunham cameo... why?
