I thought this one was really interesting, I liked the painting clue though it felt a bit thin all things considered as there certainly are other reasons for the shadows to be that way. I do like the movelist laying a trap to get them to come angle.

I rewatched this and the two bits that still make me grin are when Captain Hastings takes the sweet and crunches loudly at the doctor's, and the look of tired disdain on the woman's face when her ex-boyfriend asks if she did it for him.

The day looked pretty cloudy to me so there shouldn’t have been any shadows but she’d already painted in a blue sky earlier.

Yes Hastings with the sweet is awesome. It's why I'm not always onboard with the later ones, while good, I really like the dynamic between the two of them.
