Only movie that ever made me cry within the first 5 minutes - but it was awesome, have watched this countless times with my kids when they were younger.

I always resist rewatching this movie because of how much it makes me cry, which is too bad because it's also utterly hilarious. "I hid under your porch because I love you" is one of the great lines of cinema.

Should come with a warning for first time viewers; I got this movie on DVD as part the gift for my wife's birthday not too long after we had a miscarriage, and I figured it would be great to watch the latest Pixar film with our toddler and have a fun evening. Five minutes in and we're both sobbing in the kitchen, and our toddler is trying to figure out why mom & dad are so upset.

Have watched it numerous times since, and we still quote it (mostly Dug): "Squirrel!"; "I have just met you and I love you"; "the cone of shame"

I just want to say that the opening sequence does not universally work. I should be the target market for this, but the opening and the rest of the film just makes me go meh. Dug is the highlight, but I could've happily left the old dude far behind.

I tried to borrow the DVD from RIck Astley, but he refused.

What a liar. When I asked, he tried to tell me he didn't even know what 'UP' was.

This movie is good and we honestly enjoyed it, but the opening five minutes is so emotionally manipulative that we have not watched another Pixar movie since.

I like this movie fine, but I highly recommend Dug Days on Disney+

Less crying, more Dug.
