All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite: AEW Dynamite 9/7 and Rampage 9/9

The aftermath of ALL OUT 2002... in more ways than expected! After his big win over Jon Moxley at the pay-per-view, CM Punk ran his mouth at the post-show media scrum (internet smarks are calling it the "Gripebomb"), cussing out the EVPs (and new Trios Champions) Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. This prompted a big backstage brawl that was emphatically not part of the show, which has led to suspensions, and now here we are.

With The Bucks, Omega, and several other members of the Elite suspended, and the sword of Damocles dangling over Punk's head as to whether he'll be suspended or outright fired, tonight's card has been subject to change:

Tonight's announced (and revised) card:

-- MJF to address fans following his return at All Out

--Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho to put in some appearance

-- Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Cero Miedo, & Rey Fenix) vs. Best Friends (Orange Cassidy, Trent? & Chuckie Taylor)

-- ROH Pure Championship Match: Wheeler Yuta (c) vs. Daniel Garcia (rematch)

Fun fact: If Punk is actually fired from AEW, this will be the second time he's exited a promotion as a top champion, since his WWE contract expired immediately after he beat John Cena at MITB 2011.

I'm not mad that Death Triangle won the newly vacated Trios titles, but I sure am sad Best Friends lost.

I've been waiting since Sunday for the wrestling drama and the Don't Worry Darling drama to intersect but if I'm not going to get that, at least Maxwell Jacob Goddamn Friedman is back on my television doing a fucking Moses promo.

I'm not going to lie the vibes at All Out were weird, y'all. The audience was super keyed up and they were kind of zigging where the promotion zagged and I am gonna be scratching my head about how that Acclaimed/Swerve in Our Glory match shook out for a long time.

Death Triangle/Best Friends was locked and loaded already with Pac/Orange beefing at each other on Sunday, so that seems like a natural choice.

Finally, that is the least amount of cocaine I've ever seen Tony Khan on.

I think the thing I hate most in the presentation of wrestling as a sport is when the authority figure says "Here are the X people who are going to participate in [tournament/other big multi-person match]." with no play-in matches or the like. I at least give Tony credit for trying to justify the selections ("Longest reigning TNT champion!"), but he really fumbled the initial rollout.
