College GameDay: Week Two - Austin   Books Included

Alabama coming to Texas should be a better game than the one we're likely to get, but maybe Pat McAfee will provide some entertainment.

The few schools willing to schedule marquee Week One matchups mostly retreat to tuneup games, but #17 Pitt is still aiming high by inviting #24 Tennessee to the banks of the Ohio. #17 Florida tries to follow up its upset of Utah by hosting #20 Kentucky, and #9 Baylor heads to #21 BYU. That's it, though. Three lousy ranked games.

Meanwhile, #2 Georgia hosts Stanford... no, wait, Samford. #3 Ohio State hosts Arkansas... State. #4 Michigan somehow wants to play Hawai'i in Ann Arbor instead of Honolulu. #5 Clemson plays Furman, who will cover the spread if they only lose by six touchdowns. Week Two, y'all. Week Two.

Well, I wouldn't call it a good game, but at least it was close.

I’d like a RICO investigation into all the calls not made against Bama over the last 10 years. They got called for a ton this game, but even the announcers were calling out glaring missed calls.

But hey, at least the three best words in college football are on the horizon: “Unranked Notre Dame.”

Congratulations also due to Appalachian State over TA&M.

Scott Frost got fired and will be paid $15M over the next four years. Nebraska is not good at buyouts.
