There's a modest gimmick used in this movie, but it's well-executed and fun.

Seeing this in SD made it feel to me like some quirky little forgotten 80s movie; something I would remember fondly, like Splash or Roxanne in terms of it just being a nicely made little thing. (Though this movie is not a comedy.)
