Along with the whitewashing of Alicia Nash, this movie also perpetuates the "the heartfelt efforts of a loved one are the real cure for mental illness" mythology, which is not helpful or kind, to these eyes.

Also the bit where Nash "discovers" the Nash equilibrium while he and his friends decide how to hit on a group of women, eww, doesn't even describe a Nash eq.

Which is annoying because it's not like it's hard to describe. "Everyone does the best for themselves, given what the other people are doing" or "Everyone's choice is a best response to the choices others made."

disappointing they never touched on the fact that a cornerstone of modern economics is rooted in mental illness
