I just started watching this today. Now on the Branson episode.

Bob is talking to a young man who stopped identifying as gay - apparently because his experiences with gay culture involved a lot of substance abuse, and when he quit drugs he felt he had to let go of that too.

He says he struggles every day but has to have faith.

I just got off the phone with a relative whose immediate family, faithful to their church, spent his entire childhood trying to pray and punish the gay away. Those relationships are permanently damaged. It’s terrible.

Why is *that* the faith that people feel they have to keep, when it makes no sense and turns them against those they love?
