If the last episode was a little "meh", this episode THRILLED me. So many great Barbara-isms! Bitch Tattoo Mom being the most involved parent! GREGORY AND JANINE GIVING EACH OTHER LOOKS! Amber with her Telfar! Leslie Odom Jr's pitch-perfect creepy charter school guy! Tariq of all people eloquently calling him out "He's playing Powerball with Our Kids"! Did we notice in the button scene that Tariq is moving back to town???

The only part that sort of confused me was Jacob. He seemed befuddled by any and all action to achieve the goal - is this a knock on white-liberal do nothings?

"slu-" "I'll just get it from Venus." LOLOLOLOL.

Gregory's look at the camera when talking to Erica!!

"Listen lady, I'm just trying to dunk a white dude."

Aw, darn it, Amber's NOT with Maurice!!! So disappointed. Well, at least she got her purse.

I love how Draemond sunk his own damn self.

"We don't kick kids out, we encourage a small few to explore other educational opportunities."
"This man is playing the Powerball with our kids!"
"Man, get out of here with that nut-ass suit!"
The janitor literally sweeping him on out of there!

"I really brought the community together tonight, didn't I?"
"Bless your heart, Draemond."

Another line from Tariq I loved - "I got a pro-Amazon song called 'She Gonna Get That Package' "

Reminded me of how it goes when you get booed off the stage at the Apollo- felt like a reference and I loved it.

A lot of Jacob this season has seemed to be "White guy who thinks that seeing Black Panther in the theater means he's immersed in Black culture".

It didn't feel accurate to me that Jacob wouldn't know black actors, but I guess maybe that's because he is probably also proud of not having a TV? He's been too busy reading bell hooks and Caste? Also, are we going to find out that things are bad at home or something? Jacob has been very emotional.

I thought we would get more of Bitch Tattoo Mom. I kind of expected her to save the day. I always love Tariq's stream of consciousness though, so it was still fun.

That, and that Barbara WOULD know who Lee Daniels was, or call him by the correct name. That was played up earlier through several episodes.

Hahaha, so glad Tariq is back. He has a song about endangered species because he is interested to bringing back velociraptors! And a series of national park songs, mainly about how mountains look like boobies. That whole credits scene hanging out in the dunk tank like a hot tub could have been an entire b plot as far as I'm concerned. Just no revival of the Tariq - Janine relationship, please.

Now I want a venn diagram of celebrities that both Barbara and Jacob can correctly identify - Gritty and ... ?

Lots of good Barbara stuff this episode, but I particularly liked "Never have I ever been so glad to hear such explicit content."

Exactly. I was pleased that Tariq seemed to be a better rapper now and it's easier to like him when he's not being a slightly needy ex. Jacob was more two-dimensional than usual though I did appreciate his Nikki Giovanni shoutout.

To me, Tariq and Ava are the best characters to watch. We don't really have to worry about them moving plots along, we just get to watch them be pure spectacle. The actors who play each are so funny and I think they bring a lot of life to the show.

Sandman Sims! Definitely a reference to The Executioner.

If anyone else is also watching Party Down, I hadn’t realised Tyrel Jackson Williams who plays Sackson is his younger brother!
