Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie (2023)

Follows the life of beloved actor and advocate Michael J. Fox, exploring his personal and professional triumphs and travails, and what happens when an incurable optimist confronts an incurable disease.

One of the best documentaries on disability I've seen in a long time. Brilliantly edited using Michael's work to illustrate Michael's life.

Watched this today. Really good! I’ve read one of his books too. Yes, he’s a celebrity and I usually have little patience for — I’ll call them — celebrity disease representatives. But speaking as someone with a different brain disease that causes broadly similar symptoms, I can say a lot of this rang true for me.

It was well told and seemed pretty honest.

This was really well done. It took me a bit to get used to the editing / dramatization techniques, but I think they were a really smart choice. My father died from complications of PD at the beginning of Covid, so this was a difficult watch for me, but I think they handled it really well. I'm really in awe of how much he was willing to share and be open - even just when he chose to let the camera be on. I hope it will do a lot of good.
