All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite: Dynamite 5/17 and Rampage 5/19

With TNT's announcement at the WB/Discovery upfronts (Nitter backup) still ringing in our ears, this episode of Dynamite has got to lay the ground work for the upcoming "brand split" and also get the audience psyched for Double Or Nothing in less than two weeks.

The announced card for tonight:

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Hikaru Shida vs. The Outcasts' Ruby Soho & Toni Storm

This was originally scheduled as a six-woman match, but Hayter has a legit injury so it became a tag match. If Saraya interferes (again), may the wrestling gods be merciful and bless us with a run in from someone else of the AEW original women to block her?

“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry vs. RUSH

With Andrade looking to be part of Collision, RUSH is officially continuing to lead La Facción Ingobernable on Dynamite. Unfortunately Perry needs momentum to get to DoN, so I don't expect RUSH to get the win

We’ll hear from Don Callis

Probably something along the lines of "I had to break you to make you better," which is some abuser shit, have some respect for yourself Kenny!

Ricky Starks vs. Jay White

...with Juice Robinson lurking somewhere, no doubt. Is Starks ever going to get assistance with these two, or is every singles match going to secretly turn into a handicap match?

Sammy Guevara in action

Sammy's sneakily becoming a babyface at the same rate as Jungle Boy slowly turning heel. I maintain that his only remaining heel trait left is his PDAs landing him in horny jail alongside his wife.

Chris Jericho vs. Roderick Strong (Falls Count Anywhere: Adam Cole and the J.A.S. are banned from the building)

What I always love about "so-and-so is banned from ringside" stips is that you're practically guaranteed to have someone previously unexpected drop by instead! Keith Lee, pretty please?

Strong/Jericho match: five stars no problem

That spot on the stairs had me legit concerned, but then I remembered Jericho fighting on top of the steel cage at Blood & Guts, so I figured he could handle it.

The loophole in the rules wasn't what I expected, with Adam Cole lying in wait outside the doors of the building. I guess Roddy is lucky that Cole figured it out but no one in J.A.S. could put it together.

So, Hangman finally rejoins(?) The Elite, sporting an Elle-in-Kill-Bill look and setting up Anarchy in the Arena 2. Between this and Orange Cassidy nonchalantly booking himself into a Blackjack Battle Royal, the card for Double Or Nothing had better start increasing the ticket sales or TK might have to have Punk show up just to wreck house again.

Oh and Rampage will be on Friday, however this time bumped to 6:30 Eastern because of sports, again.
