[TRAILER] When their car breaks down, a couple on the run (Bill Skarsgård, Maika Monroe) headed southbound for a fresh start in the Sunshine State break into a nearby house looking for a new set of wheels. What they find instead is a dark secret, and a sweet-as-pie pair of homeowners (Kyra Sedgwick, Jeffrey Donovan) who will do anything to keep it from getting out.

This is fun. Loopy and funny, if a little smarmy and mean-spirited. Recommended if you enjoyed this team's other feature Significant Other, although this is less out of left field than that one. The characters still seem as idiosyncratic and alive.

Only an insane person could think Jeffrey Donovan's southern accent sounded authentic but then, because he is playing an insane person, I can let that slide.

I don't remember many specifics having watched this a year or two back but this is what remains in my mind. The characters and especially their relationships with one another felt stronger and better realised than in many horror films. I recall being invested in the relationship between Monroe and Skarsgard and that both couples had great chemistry.
