This just popped up on the TV calendar site I use, and since I like the web-comic I had to give it a try. That it's co-created by Dan Harmon was just a bonus.

It's a decent show, I've seen 3 episodes so far and they don't disappoint. The strange way the beings speak doesn't overly intrude while still lending it a bit of strangeness.

I didn't realize that Dan Harmon co-created this, will have to check it out later today!

Put some foot tubes on, ingest some mild poison and enjoy!

I'm not sure if I'd get into it if I didn't already know and love the comic; but I do, so I liked the show. Accurate and funny observations about human weirdness, with sweetness and charm.

I don't know why, but the vibe on this (the pilot, at least) was off for me. I'd always read the comics as being "These aliens are on Earth, blending in with humans and narrating how silly a lot of human things (skewing heavily toward American things in particular) are from an outsider's perspective." But these "aliens" are clearly on their own world, so why are they all acting like everything they do is strange to them?

But it's cute, and amusing, and there certainly isn't enough of that around these days, so I'll likely keep going.

It has been perfectly serviceable so far, but after three episodes I already feel like I have seen everything it has to offer.

Strange Planet kind of reminds me of Winston Rowntree's PeopleWatching in its sincerity and observations, although not as smart and cutting. Strange Planet is a lot more gentle and cute and I think that is too its detriment (so far). It feels like it wants to be insightful about the absurdity of the modern life while also hitting typical adult animated comedy beats and ends up not really having enough of either.

I'm enjoying this so far. In a TV lineup that's been exceedingly heavy lately, I'm happy for a bit of lightness that I don't have to think too hard about, but is still satisfyingly quirky.
